The Renault Kwid AMT has been previewed by the French automaker ahead of its expected debut later this year. The hatchback was unveiled and showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and will offered with the 1.0-litre variants.
The teaser image shows the AMT gear dial which we saw in the car that was on display at the Auto Expo. Dubbed Easy-R, it will be offered on the 1.0-litre versions and will be a five-speed unit. The 1.0-litre engine produces 68bhp/90Nm of torque with power going to the front wheels.
Externally, the only change major from the manual 1.0-litre variant will be the presence of the Easy-R badging at the rear and probably on the C-pillars. We believe that Renault will price the Kwid AMT Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 more than the equivalent manual variants.
When launched, the Kwid AMT will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 which is the only other car in this price bracket to have the AMT option.
