Sources report that a facelifted Skoda Octavia prototype was shot testing at night on the D11 motorway in Czech Republic.
This is the first sighting of a facelifted Octavia and from the picture it looks like the test mule is an Octavia Combi. The partially wrapped headlamps point to the fact that the facelifted Octavia may use a split headlamp design, and could also be powered by a full-LED setup.
At the rear, the tail lamps showcase a more conspicuous āCā design and use new internals and graphics. Additionally, reports claim that the light in the driver’s side door mirror could mean that a blind spot detection system may have found its way on to the list of features. The highlight of the interiors, however, is going to be the new infotainment system with touch sensitive buttons that may be borrowed from the Kodiaq SUV.
There are rumours that Skoda may drop the 1.8 TSI for a de-tuned version of the 2.0 TSI with about the same horsepower, in light of improved fuel efficiency. Sources also add that Skoda may reveal the facelifted Octavia in Czech Republic next month, and deliveries could begin in November.
If this is true, we can expect the facelifted Skoda Octavia to reach our shores sometime next year.
