The BMW Z4 Final Edition has been unveiled as production approaches its conclusion

  • No successor has been confirmed for the two-door roadster.
  • It continues to be available in India in two variants.

BMW has introduced the Z4 Final Edition, signifying the conclusion of production for its two-seat convertible. The final units are set to be manufactured until March 2026, with global bookings anticipated to commence by late January.

The Final Edition features a somewhat dramatic appearance, attributed to its exclusive Frozen Matte Black paint, BMW’s extended Shadowline treatment, and gloss black accents around the grille, air intakes, and exhaust tips, complemented by red M Sport brake calipers. These enhancements provide the Z4 with a darker, more performance-oriented visual identity.

Inside, the vehicle adopts a black and red color scheme. It is equipped with Vernasca leather and Alcantara seats, red contrast stitching on the dashboard, door pads, and center console, as well as an Alcantara-wrapped M steering wheel adorned with red stitching. Additionally, Final Edition door sill plates finalize the updates to the cabin.

There are no alterations to the mechanical components. The Final Edition retains the same global engine options, which include a 2.0L turbo petrol engine producing approximately 197bhp, a 2.0L turbo petrol engine generating 258bhp, and a 3.0L six-cylinder turbo petrol engine that delivers 335bhp. All variants are equipped with an automatic transmission, although certain markets still provide a six-speed manual option in the M40i variant.

With no successor confirmed, the Final Edition serves as a genuine farewell to BMW’s roadster heritage. Its limited availability and distinctive styling package are expected to render it a future collector’s item as BMW shifts away from conventional two-seat convertibles.

The Z4 is still available for purchase in India in two versions – the M40i and the Pure Impulse Edition. The M40i is priced at Rs. 87.90 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Pure Impulse Edition, which includes a six-speed manual transmission, is offered at Rs. 92.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
