Only a few days ago, several students in Maharashtra were intimidated by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHE) with its circular which reads of imposing late fines on three phases for late filling of SSC examination form.

The board however in a regrettable situation has made a severe mistake in its latest circular inadvertently mentioning 2016 on the stead of 2017 while updating the time-frame for filling of SSC forms with late fines.

Who will punish the board, asks school principal

In what might appear as a fitting reply, one school principal pointed out that the board would slap fine every time schools make any inadvertent mistake.

While the incident has gone viral on social media, the board was severed with a sharp comment from the stake holders.

“Schools face wrath of the state board upon committing such errors,” said Pramod Nemade, state leader of school principals adding, “School authorities are asked to remain present personally and clarify things if silly mistakes took place at the level of schools. The board is apparently answerable to nobody.”

Silly mistake cannot be ignored, say school teachers

While schooli teachers accused both the senior authorities of the state board and its clerical staffs of careless attitude towards issuing circulars, they also pointed out that such silly mistakes shouldn’t be left unnoticed.

In a similar view, Pramod Nemade said that the state board should reprimand the person responsible for the mistakes as even a silly mistake can leave a drastic effect on students.
