Due to heavy snowfall in Srinagar, the University  of Kashmir has postponed the examinations which were being held on January 7 and January 8.

Due to heavy snowfall in Srinagar, the University  of Kashmir has postponed the examinations which were being held on January 7 and January 8.

“All the students of M.A/M.Sc. Geopgraphy 1st Sem. Batch – 2016 and other backlog candidates that their examination of course no.s GG15102CR (Evolution of Geographic Thought) and GG14107EA (Oceanography) scheduled on January 7, 2017 shall be postponed. The date for the same shall be notified to the students separately,” the circular reads.

“Fresh dates for the postponed examinations shall be notified separately,” a spokesman of the university said.

About the university:

The University was founded in 1948. In the year 1969, it was bifurcated into two-fledged universities i.e., University of Kashmir at Srinagar and University of Jammu at Jammu.  The University of Kashmir is located at Hazaratbal in Srinagar

It has been re-accredited as Grade-A University by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of India in the year 2011.

The university offers programmes in all the major faculties; arts, business and management studies, education, law, applied sciences and technology, biological sciences, physical and material sciences, social sciences, medicine, dentistry, engineering, oriental learning and music and fine arts.
