Skoda’s upcoming full-size SUV has been spied on test again, this time on video. To be labelled ‘Kodiaq’, this entirely new offering is a 7-seater model and is expected to be fully revealed at the 2016 Paris Motor Show in September.
While the Kodiaq will be seen wearing an all-new look, the engine line-up would be formed by the familiar VW Group engines, starting with a 1.4-litre turbo petrol unit. The more popular 1.6 or 2.0-litre diesel engines will also be on offer, in various states of tune. The latter will include the 237bhp twin-turbo diesel from the Volkswagen Passat.
The Kodiaq will be available as front and four-wheel drive vehicle with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox option. The concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show had an all-wheel drive petrol-electric hybrid powertrain and the production model is likely to feature the same tech.
The Kodiaq will be officially shown in September this year at the Paris Motor Show whereas sales will begin sometime early next year.
