To compensate the loss of classes in the recent times due to the unrest, schools in Kashmir valley would remain open throughout the winter. Following the annihilation of Burhan Wani in July, the valley was bombarded with public protest, destruction of schools, and agitation that lasted for almost five months.
While schools will render special classes in this new academic session to cope with the lessons delayed due to the prolonged closure of schools, the universities in Kashmir has decided to provide e-tutorials platform.
Extra classes to compensate for the lesson lost:
Identifying the urgent need for extra classes, Kashmir University official states that students would be entertained with extra classes throughout this winter and the duration of each class would be reduced to 30 minutes.
“We have to do something. The state (government) has already announced winter classes and these will start soon as we finish the examinations. Tutorials have been uploaded on the website for the next semester,” Mohammad Ashraf Wani, Dean, Academic Affairs, at Kashmir University, as reported in The Indian Express.
