The newly launched Maruti Suzuki Dzire has recently crossed the 44,000 bookings mark in India. It has been less than a month since the company started accepting bookings for the car and such impressive numbers show the kind of popularity the Dzire brand commands. This is the third-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire that has been launched in India and now the car comes with a bit of a premium quotient both in terms of styling and features. In retrospect, the prices have gone up and the new Dzire is now priced in the range of ₹ 5.45 lakh to ₹ 9.41 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Now, Maruti officially started accepting bookings for the car about 10 days before the launch of the car and within that period, the company had already received 33,000 bookings. While these numbers are quite impressive, it also means that customers will have to face a longer waiting period. In fact, at the launch of the car the company confirmed that there is already a waiting period of 8 weeks for the new-gen Dzire. And there are reasons why the wait will be worth it.
The new-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire is a lot more premium and feature-rich
The new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is almost a new car in some aspects. For instance, the car is built on the company’s all-new HEARTECT design platforms, which has made the car about 105 kg lighter than its predecessor and at the same time more rigid. The car has also received some dimensional changes as the new Dzire is 40 mm wider and comes with a 20 mm longer wheelbase. What this means is the cabin is now a bit roomier and more comfortable.
The cabin of the new Dzire gets a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto
In addition to that the car now comes with a host of new features like projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and MirrorLink supports (only in the top-end ZXi+ and ZDi+ variants). But there are several smart and impressive features in the lower variants as well, which we have already talked about in detail. Similarly, we have also spoken about the car’s exterior and interior in detail in the past. Having said that, the new Dzire also offers safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard across its trim levels.
Under the hood, the new Dzire comes with the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine that makes 82 bhp and a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel developing 74 bhp. Both engines come paired with a 5-speed manual and Automated Manual Transmission options. Both engines have been tuned for efficiency and now return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 22 kmpl on the petrol and 28.48 kmpl on the diesel version, both of which are class leading.
