5 Major Car Launches Scheduled for May 2026 – Honda, Tata, Toyota & MG

The months of March and April in 2026 have been filled with excitement for the Indian automotive sector, marked by the introduction of the new Renault Duster, the refreshed Skoda Kushaq, and the launches of the VW Taigun and MG Majestor. Honda City Facelift

The facelift of the 2026 Honda City is anticipated to feature only slight design modifications, including a subtly updated grille, refreshed headlamps, bumpers, and taillamps, along with newly designed alloy wheels. Inside the vehicle, the sedan may incorporate new amenities such as a larger and upgraded touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, a new digital driver’s display, a powered driver’s seat, and a 360-degree camera. In terms of mechanics, the new City facelift is expected to retain its existing specifications.

Honda ZR-V

The Honda ZR-V is set to arrive in India as a completely built unit (CBU) and will act as a flagship model for the brand. It may feature a 2.0L, four-cylinder petrol hybrid engine that generates a peak power of 180bhp, coupled with an eCVT transmission. As a premium model, the ZR-V will include numerous advanced features, such as an ADAS suite.

Toyota Ebella

The Toyota Ebella, which is a rebadged version of the Maruti eVitara, will be offered in three trims: E1, E2, and E3. It will also come with two battery pack choices: a 49kWh (114bhp/189Nm) and a 61kWh (174bhp/189Nm). The entry-level variant will be equipped with the smaller 49kWh battery, while the E2 and E3 trims will feature the larger 61kWh battery.

Tata Sierra EV

The launch of the Tata Sierra EV is anticipated in the second quarter of 2026. This electric SUV is expected to share its powertrain with the Harrier EV and will be loaded with features such as a triple screen setup, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, various drive modes, ADAS, and more. Certain design elements will set it apart from its internal combustion engine (ICE) version, including a closed grille and aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels.

MG Majestor

Introduced in February 2026, the MG Majestor is expected to be available in showrooms by May 2026. The model lineup consists of four variants: Sharp 4X2 (7-seater), Savvy 4X2 (7-seater), Savvy 4X2 (6-seater), and Savvy 4X4 (7-seater). Under the hood, this SUV is powered by a 2.0L twin-turbo diesel engine that delivers 215bhp and 478Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
