Burnout creators announce two new car destruction games

Developer Three Fields Entertainment, the studio founded by former Burnout creators Fiona Sperry and Alex Ward, are doubling down on games about cars wrecking and blowing up. The studio announced two games today — Danger Zone 2 and Dangerous Driving — both of which will deliver car crashes in excess.

Danger Zone 2 is, obviously, a sequel to last year’s Danger Zone, the virtual crash testing facility that was inspired by Burnout’s Crash Mode. Danger Zone 2 will move beyond the confines of the first game and onto real public roads.

In a press release, Sperry said that “Danger Zone 2 is a significant step up from the first game with lots more driving including drifting and boosting, a variety of objectives, brand new vehicles and even more spectacular crashes.” The sequel promises 26 single-player levels and 17 locations set in locations in the U.S., U.K. and Spain.

Dangerous Driving is described as an arcade racer set on closed tracks and will feature “boosts, takedowns, destruction and the biggest car crashes seen in a racing game to date,” according to Three Fields.

Danger Zone 2 is coming to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One in July. It will cost $19.99. Dangerous Driving is coming to unspecified platforms in winter 2018.

Three Fields’ debut game, Dangerous Golf, was released in 2016.
