Honda Brio facelift to be launched in India on October 4

Earlier this year, Honda launched the latest iteration of the Brio in Indonesia. The refreshed hatchback will now also be launched for the Indian market on October 4.

The carmaker has tweaked the exterior and interior of the car, similar to what they did with the Amaze compact sedan. The cosmetic changes include a new black grille with chrome slat, new bumpers and larger air intakes. Though there are no changes at the back, the most welcome changes are inside the car. The cabin features a new dashboard with automatic climate control and new rectangular vents. All of this is similar to the one in the facelifted Amaze and the BR-V.

The facelifted Brio will continue to be powered by the same 1.2 litre four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine from its predecessor. This mill produces 88bhp of power and 110Nm of torque. The existing Brio comes with either a five-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. We can expect Honda to replace the latter with a new CVT transmission.

The 2016 Honda Brio has already started reaching dealerships in India and bookings might start soon. With a fresh avatar and updated interior replacing the old-school look for a more modern design, Honda has enhanced the overall package of the Brio. We can expect them to introduce the Honda Connect mobile services for this entry-level hatchback as well. Variant-wise prices will be revealed next week.
