A heavily camouflaged Infiniti QX50 was spotted testing in the USA with design cues borrowed from the concept car that was showcased at the Detroit Auto Show.
This test mule had a wide mesh grille, vertically placed intakes, narrow headlights and tail lamps just like that of the concept that was revealed at Detroit. Also, the camouflage on the bonnet looks like its hiding some sort of intake or prominent crease. The obvious slant of the roof happens to lend the QX50 a sporty stance, on the whole.
Sources state that the production version of the new QX50 could get the brand’s new 268bhp 2.0-litre VC-Turbo motor that makes 390Nm of torque. While the concept car was equipped with the latest version of the ProPilot semi-autonomous technology which can drive in highway traffic, it remains to be confirmed if the production version will get this feature at launch.
Infiniti has been known to be working extensively on the design of the next-gen QX50 over the past year. Reports claim that Infiniti could launch the new version in early 2018, so stay tuned for more news.
