Mahindra XUV700 Facelift Spied Ahead Of 2026 Launch

The current Mahindra XUV700, on the market for over four years now, is soon due for a mid-lifecycle update. We’ve got our hands on fresh spy shots previewing some new design details of the updated XUV700, ahead of its anticipated launch in 2026. The upcoming model is also expected to borrow several interior features from Mahindra’s born-electric range of EVs. Let’s take a closer look at what to expect.

  1. Only soft plastic parts are expected to be updated on the outside
  2. Interior likely to adopt a new triple-screen setup from the XEV 9e
  3. The launch is anticipated for the first half of 2026.

The new Mahindra XUV700’s exterior and interior have been updated

On the outside, the updates to the XUV700 are expected to be limited to the soft plastic parts, chief of which are likely to be a new grille and headlamp design. Even though the test mule is heavily camouflaged, the headlamps appear to have a twin pod-like design and the grille section appears to have larger air inlets. Mahindra might also be able to redesign the LED daytime running lamp signature and modify the bumper to make it look better.

There appear to be no sheet metal changes, as the bonnet, doors and fenders all look very similar to the current car. At the rear, the XUV700 could get a new lighting signature, perhaps in the form of a connected light strip, as well as a new bumper. Additionally, it receives brand-new aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels.

On the inside, where the XUV700 facelift may adopt a new triple-screen configuration similar to that found on the XEV 9e, more significant modifications are anticipated. This feature has already been shown off by Mahindra in the upcoming XEV 9S, and it is very likely to appear in the new XUV700 as well. The current XUV700 does have a bunch of handy physical switchgear for climate operations, but it remains to be seen if that’s retained with the facelift. The current 6- and 7-seat configurations are also likely to be retained.

Powertrain options for the new Mahindra XUV700

Under the hood, we do not anticipate any changes. The XUV700 facelift will continue to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine good for 200hp and 380Nm or a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel mill developing 155-185hp and 360-450Nm, depending on the spec. As for transmission options, both engines can be expected to continue with their respective 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter auto gearboxes. The all-wheel-drive configuration that is available as an option for the diesel-AT powertrain is also expected to remain.

It is likely that the facelifted Mahindra XUV700 will go on sale in the first half of 2026. Expect a slight bump in prices. For reference, the current XUV700 is priced between Rs 13.66 lakh and Rs 23.71 lakh.
