The question of which country produced the best classic sports cars (pre 1970) is a topic of great debate. Regardless of whether you think Italy, Germany, Japan, USA, England or even France have produced the best vintage sports cars; England undoubtedly boasts some of the best classic sports cars in the world in terms of build quality, styling, innovative features and performance. Considering that the Aston Martin was cherished by James Bond in film after film and the AC Bristol was revered so much my Carroll Shelby that he partnered with them to produce the legendary Shelby Cobra, then we that England’s automakers of yesteryear were doing more than a few things right. Personally the Jaguar E-Type is my favorite classic British sports car. I can’t imagine a sexier classic car than the Jaguar XKE Convertible (such as pictured). Its timeless design looks extraordinary from every angle. Today Britain boasts even more amazing sports cars that are proudly designed and built within the country such as from Mclaren, Ariel Atom, Noble, Caterham and more.
