Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) announced the launch of the Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo in India for a price of ₹ 31.01 lakh (Ex showroom, New Delhi) just in time for the festive season ahead. The new Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo Edition is available in 4x2AT variant and is designed and developed by Toyota Racing Development (TRD). The Fortuner TRD Sportivo has undergone a series of cosmetic changes while continuing with the same mechanics under the hood. Bookings of the Fortuner TRD Sportivo are already underway and is on display at all Toyota dealerships across India.
Since its launch in 2009, the Fortuner has been dominating the SUV segment in the country, with about 75 per cent of the market share. The upgraded Fortuner that was introduced in November last year has an average monthly sales of over 2000 units and cumulative sales of over 21,000 units till now.

The 2017 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo comes in blacked out grille extending till the new bumper. Along with an additional body kit, the Fortuner TRD Sportivo also gets a revised bumper, side skirts and an extended chin. The fog lamp enclosures have been blacked. Other upgrades include black/red body decals on the side, ‘TRD Sportivo’ badge and new black and silver finished alloy wheels. On the inside, the Fortuner TRD Sportivo comes with an black cabin with black upholstery, floor mats, while everything else remains the same.
At the heart of the Fortuner TRD Sportivo is the same 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engines that churns out 175 bhp and 450 Nm of peak torque. It also comes with the 2.7-litre petrol engine. Transmission duties are carried out by a 6-Speed manual or a 6-Speed automatic gearbox. It also gets the AWD function.
The 2017 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo rivals against the likes of Isuzu MU-X, Ford Endeavour, Honda CR-V and Volkswagen Tiguan in India.
